01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Set in the residential neighbourhood of Katsura Kinoshitacho, F+1 is a restaurant where diners can savour carefully crafted Italian cuisine and wine in a calm, relaxed setting. The chef, who is also a certified sommelier, suggests wine pairings tailored to the ingredients and preparation of each dish, creating an effortless progression from the first pour to the final post-meal pause. The course-style formats, beginning with an assorted antipasto or an appetizer accompanied by salad, have garnered a loyal reputation among guests.

Lunch Crafted Around Seasonal Pasta and Pizza

For lunch, set menus pair an appetizer with salad alongside a choice of main courses, selected from pasta, risotto, or pizza. The options highlight inventive combinations of ingredients, such as an oil-based pasta with scallops and sea lettuce (aosa nori), a tomato-sauce pasta featuring chicken thigh and lotus root, a creamy shrimp and turnip risotto, or a classic Margherita pizza. Diners can also add an entrée course, such as white-fish acqua pazza or roasted beef, rounding off the meal at an unhurried pace with after-meal coffee or tea.

A Diverse Wine List and Comfortable Table Seating

At dinner, the cellar offers an extensive range of bottled wines spanning reds, whites, and sparklings from across Italy, with casual by-the-glass options also available. The beverage selection is notably diverse, extending to Peroni on tap, bottled Italian Moretti beer, non-alcoholic wines, and not-from-concentrate Italian orange juice retaining its freshly squeezed flavour. The entirely non-smoking dining room is arranged with table seating suited to comfortable conversation throughout the meal, making advance reservations advisable for anniversaries or evening gatherings.
